چکیده

Abstract Background Furosemide, a diuretic that acts on the loop of Henle, is commonly used to treat congestive heart failure in veterinary medicine. Some owners have difficulty administering oral tablet medication animal patients, which leads noncompliance, especially during long-term administration. Oral disintegrating film (ODF) has advantages easy administration via non-invasive route, rapid dissolution, and low suffocating risk. The objective this study was research pharmacokinetic (PK) profiles effect furosemide after intravenous (IV), orally uncoated (OUT), newly developed ODF healthy beagle dogs. In study, furosemide-loaded (FS-ODF) formulation five dogs were administered single dose (2 mg/kg) each route using cross-over design. Results most suitable film-forming agent sodium alginate; thus, develop an for drug No significant differences detected PK between OUT FS-ODF. blood profiles, concentration total protein significantly increased compared baseline (0 h), whereas no difference creatinine hematocrit baseline. FS-ODF resulted similar hourly urinary output initial 2 h urine specific gravity decreased group. peak times electrolyte (sodium chloride) excretion per hour 1 (FS-ODF). Conclusions These results suggest PK/PD are those Therefore, benefits ease convenience, would be helpful companion animals, such as small (< 10 kg), management failure.

The Pharmacokinetics of Rafoxanide following Single Dose Intravenous and Oral Administration in Goats

The study was conducted to determine the plasma concentrations and pharmacokinetic parameters of rafoxanide after a single intravenous (10 mg/kg) and oral (22.5 mg/kg) administrations in black Bengal female goats. Maximum (87.63 11.71 mg/mL) and minimum (1.8 0.24 mg/mL) plasma concentrations of rafoxanide were recorded at 0.08 and 12 h respectively after i.v. administration. The elimination h...

Pharmacokinetics of BMEDA after intravenous administration in beagle dogs.

The pharmacokinetics of N,N-bis(2-mercapatoethly)-N',N'-diethylenediamine (BMEDA), a molecule that can form a chelate with rhenium-188 (188Re) to produce the 188Re-BMEDA-liposomes, was studied. In this work, beagles received a single injection of BMEDA, at doses of 1, 2, or 5 mg/kg; the concentration of BMEDA in the beagles' plasma was then analyzed and determined by liquid chromatography-mass ...

Pharmacokinetics of tetracycline hydrochloride after single intravenous injection in dogs

Six mixed-breed apparently healthy dogs were intravenously administered a single dose of tetracycline hydrochloride (50 mg/kg) to evaluate the pharmacokinetic parameters of the drug. Blood samples were collected before and at various time intervals after the administration of the drug. Serum tetracycline concentrations were determined over a 24 h period using fluorescence spectrophotometry. Non...
